We’re having an extra special Rhythm Section Masterclass at LCCM on 25 April! The masterclass will be delivered by drummer Andrew Treacey, bassist Neil Fairclough and guitarist Ash Wilson.

Andrew Treacey has played as a band member and session musician with a huge array of artists, including Faithless, Robbie Williams, Dire Straits, Dido and Bono. Andrew also played in the orchestra pit on the Lion King musical in London and with the BRTN philharmonic orchestra.

Neil Fairclough is a bass player who has worked extensively with Queen guitarist Brian May, having spent the past seven years touring and recording with Queen + Adam Lambert. He has also worked with artists such as Beverly Knight, Mika and Billy Cobham.

Ash Wilson is a blues guitarist who has been playing professionally from a young age, when he formed blues band The Melt at age 16 and toured with acts such as Doctor Feelgood and The Animals. Ash has also written and recorded tracks for feature films and played with several blues bands where he acted as a vocalist, guitarist and songwriter.

The masterclass will take place at the Venue from 5pm to 7pm. And just a heads up – Andrew, Neil and Ash will be looking for students to get up on the stage with them and play a couple of tunes, 'Fire on the Bayou' by The Meters and 'Stop On By' by Rufus and Chaka Khan, so make sure you familiarise yourself with the songs beforehand. See you there!
