Very soon we will be opening the doors of our brand new building The Music Box to students and the public. It’s an extremely exciting time so here’s the latest updates, design previews and details of our feature in WIRED culture and technology Magazine.
Firstly, here’s the latest artist impression of what one of the rehearsal rooms will look like.
Providing six floors of top-of-the-range resources for music, writing and technology, The Music Box will house:
- 7 soundproofed rehearsal and performance rooms
- 3 recording studios
- 2 audio visual booths
- 6 drum booths
- 5 practice booths
- 4 computer rooms
- 2 piano rooms
- Lots of spaces for writing, reading and studying.
The building will also boast a state of the art, 200-capacity, multi-purpose venue where gigs, masterclasses, workshops, club nights and hack weekends will be held for students and the public. We visited the site to show you how the venue is taking shape, and we think you’ll be surprised at the size of the space and the height of the ceiling!
What’s more, along with already being mentioned in GigSlutz, Complete Music Update, Loud! Magazine, Mixmag and Resident Advisor, The Music Box was recently featured in WIRED magazine – named one of the most popular digital magazines – after we gave them an exclusive tour of the building.
You can keep up with the latest Music Box updates on our website and Facebook page, or come along to our next Open Day where you can find out more information about just how special our new campus is going to be.
