Why study in SE1?

We are located in the heart of London, in SE1. Here are a few reasons why we love it here and why you might like to study in Central London.

You can have lunch at the Tate!

Just a few minutes walk from Southbank, LCCM is right in the middle of plenty of cultural attractions like Tate Modern, Southbank Centre, Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre and the Royal Festival Hall. You won’t be stuck for sources of inspiration or a dose of creativity, not to mention the spectacular views from the famous bridges and The Shard. There are plenty of awesome places to explore during lunch and after college, so you’ll be forever entertained.

Fantastic transport links

Whether you’re commuting from North London, South London or a suburb, we are based perfectly for transport links. We are just a 5 minute walk from London Bridge, 5 minutes from Southwark tube and 10 minutes from Waterloo station. Buses to all areas of London also travel from these stations and closer, so you’ll never be stuck for getting around.

You can get to pretty much any gig

London’s most renowned venues are all well within your reach when you study at LCCM. From the infamous Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club to favourite spots in Shoreditch like Cargo and The Old Blue Last, you can be sure that you can make it to all the shows you want to see. Music venue OMEARA, where LCCM alumni Tom Walker recently played, is so close you could touch it and owned by Ben Lovett of Mumford and Sons. Even better? On our music degrees, you’ll play a good selection of London venues all around the city – the perfect way to get to know London.

If you’re a foodie, SE1 is one of the best places to get your fill. The famous Borough Market has all the street food and food stalls you could wish for, or pop across the road for multiple-award-winning pasta at Padella. Take a stroll along the river for dining with a view and make sure to check out some rooftop bars. We’re also right next door to the brand new Flat Iron Square, home to a range of new restaurants, bars and street food.
