We’re hosting a special evening for aspiring writers where you can meet expert professionals from different areas of the writing industry. Our renowned writers include fiction writer and novelist Jenny Parrott aka Kitty Danton, games and multi media writer Andrew Walsh, and scriptwriter and author Ivor Baddiel.

The event will be hosted by publishing specialist KT Forster, ex managing director of Virgin Books and our programme leader for BA (Hons) Creative & Professional Writing. Some of KT’s publishing successes include Sir Richard Branson, Carol Vorderman, Usain Bolt, Olly Murs and Anthea Turner. KT broke new ground in genres such as entertainment, health and lifestyle publishing and gained a industry-leading reputation for launching new writers. Currently KT is a specialist literary agent and consultant to authors who want to improve their writing skills and refine their work.
Andrew Walsh – Multi Media & Games Writing
Andrew S. Walsh is an award-winning writer/director with credits across film, television, theatre, radio, animation and videogames. A man of many job titles he has appeared as writer, director, speech designer, narrative designer, narrative producer, story consultant, script editor, motion capture director, camera director, voice director, story producer, storyliner and story editor.
To date he has worked on videogames such as ‘Prince of Persia’; ‘Lego City: Undercover’; ‘Risen’; ‘Harry Potter’, ‘Fable Legends’ and ‘Need for Speed’. His film work includes the English version of ‘Professor Layton’ and the ‘Eternal Diva’, while his time in television has embraced a wide-range of accents from Yorkshire men in woolly hats (Emmerdale); Geordie school kids (Byker Grove), a bunch of Canadians (Risk) and some proper Londoners (Family Affairs).
His theatre work includes ‘Wind in the Willows’, ‘Jungle Book’ and ‘Goldilocks and the Three Endings’ for Sixteenfeet as well as ‘Five Bites Over Lunch’ for the Ben Kingsley Theatre; ‘Summoning Cananaza’ (Chaincourt); ‘Loom! The Musical’ (Styal Mill) and ‘Faerie, Luv Story’; ‘Knocking on Heaven’s Door’; ‘Party Politics’ and ‘The Morning After’ for Hell or High Water. He hopes to continue doing things like this because it means that every morning his office is wherever he dreams it to be.

Ivor Baddiel – Scriptwriter & Author
We are also very excited to have Ivor Baddiel speaking at our event. Ex-teacher Ivor is now a scriptwriter and author for some of the most well-known television programmes such as The X Factor, The BAFTAs, Mock The Week, Comic Relief, Dancing on Ice and I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here. He has also written for huge personalities like Stephen Fry, Dermot O’Leary, Ant and Dec, Miranda Hart and Bruce Forsyth. On top of all this, Ivor has written 14 books for adults and children.
Jenny Parrott – Fiction & Publishing
Jenny Parrott has worked in publishing since 1987 and has acquired for Bloomsbury, HarperCollins and Little Brown. Specialising as a consultant in literary fiction, Jenny also teaches creative writing for Arvon and Espirita. She leads the Point Blank literary crime, thriller and suspense imprint at Oneworld and is a preliminary judge for one of the Costa prizes.
Jenny has a three-novel deal with Orion for a series of commercial women’s sagas written under the pseudonym Kitty Danton, and has a second saga trilogy signed with HarperCollins under the name of Katie King.
