Despite Russia’s illegal invasion and assault on the people of Ukraine, Believe have continued to operate in the country, and this week CEO Denis Ladegaillerie (who is not short of outspoken statements, as we’ve covered here in the past) has been defending the company’s position. Interviewed by Billboard he said Believe was “not looking at building or growing" in Russia, despite revenue from Russia and Ukraine generating €57 million in 2022, according to the company’s year-end financial figures – 7.5% of Believe’s overall revenue. With Apple Music and Spotify still active in the country but at a much reduced level, Believe aren’t alone, though it’s a very difficult line to tread.
