The rising London singer-songwriter sent him a private video after Capaldi shared footage of himself singing her track I’m Not Perfect (But I’m Trying) on his Instagram Story. "I must have had quite a few drinks," says Rachel, who was in the back of a car when Lewis's profile "popped up" on her phone. Her memory of the next part is a bit blurry, but she recalls being egged on by her housemates. "And I just I don't know what happened. I just started recording.” Her video has gone pretty viral, but it goes something like this: “Lewis I will absolutely f**king regret this video in the morning but I’m drunk out of my mind. Word on the street is that on your tour you need someone to open,” she said. “I’m not saying, ‘Force it to be me,’ I’m literally not saying that. But I’m just like, if you have no-one, I can sing songs on stage, I’ll be really good, I’m really nice and friendly. If you have like no-one to open for your gig, I will happily contribute myself.” Her management or label had no idea, and when the slot was confirmed, only then did she come clean and admit sending the video DM.
