Michael J McEvoy (MMus, FHEA) – Curriculum Vitae

Versatile composer working in film and television. Classically trained with extensive experience in pop/jazz as a producer, artist and songwriter.

 

Michael is an award-winning composer and songwriter whose credits include performing, writing and producing music for film and TV, as well as working with some of the most exciting artists in popular music.

 

Michael’s most recent work includes scores for feature Finding Your Feet and documentary Jazz Ambassadors, both projects due for release in spring 2018. Other work includes the score for ITV mini series Dark Angel, original music for Richard Linklater’s movie Me and Orson Welles starring Zac Efron & Claire Danes, the score for indie feature Forget Me Not and string arranger on Ricky Gervais’ feature David Brent: Life on the Road. Michael has also collaborated on feature film scores with DJ Paul Oakenfold (Nothing Like the Holidays, Vexille) and has worked closely with acclaimed documentary director Gary Johnstone on a number of internationally renowned documentary films such as the 5 part series Alien Deep (NATGeo), docu-drama Einstein’s Big Idea/E=Mc2 (NOVA-PBS/C4) and Battle of Hood and Bismarck (C4).

 

His music has also been featured in many popular dramas, TV series and title sequences including The Wire, Live From Abbey Road, Waterloo Road and Secrets of the SAS: In their Own Words.

Animated Feature at Philadelphia Film Festival 2008.
